Senior Leaders
Joe and Andrea Gil are the Senior Leaders at Coast. They helped plant this church in 2000 and became the Senior Leaders in 2017. They both grew up in the South Bay and have been married since 1997. Joe and Andrea have four kids at home & many more at Coast which they consider to be their extended family! Their passion is for people to experience the fullness
of God & the joy of healthy family. They also want to see people flourish in their gifting and callings.

RICK ESPONDA
Associate Pastor
Rick Esponda grew up in the Northern California experiencing the power and presence of God. As a second generation revivalist, Rick has a hunger to see young people and communities transformed by the love of God. Rick is married to an amazing wife, Jodie, and together they have four beautiful children. In addition to children's ministry, Rick oversees all the administrative functions at Coast. Rick is also a high school coach, successful marathoner, and avid backpacker.
DAN MATSUURA
Associate Pastor
Dan Matsuura (born 1985) is the Youth Pastor and Worship Director at Coast. He currently lives in Torrance with his wife, Tiffani Matsuura, and their daughter, Bethel. Both he and his wife were born and raised in the South Bay and don’t plan on ever leaving (if God allows). They are passionate about serving God and serving others through their music and their ministries.
ERIC FONSECA
Associate Pastor
Pastor Eric Fonseca was born and raised in the South Bay of Los Angeles, California. He has a genuine love for Jesus and loves his beautiful wife Angelica and four wonderful children Natalia, Hannah, Eric, and Samuel. He is an encourager who operates in the prophetic, he is passionate about the great commission, loves people, and is sincerely concerned about people’s eternal salvation and spiritual growth.

More about Pastor Joe and the Gil Family
I, Joe, was born & raised in Torrance, CA. I grew up skating, surfing & going to school in the South Bay. I have two older brothers & one younger brother. My wife Andrea grew up in neighboring San Pedro. Andrea has two younger sisters. We are all married with kids so we have big family get togethers.
In 1991, I graduated from West Torrance High School. In 1997 I graduated from Biola University with a B.S. in Graphic Design. I also worked on my M.A. at Talbot Seminary. After seven years in the marketplace, I became a pastor in 2002. I still enjoy being creative, but I was born to be in full time ministry. Andrea received her B.A in business from Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, CA. She is the organized one in the family!
We were married in November 1997 and have four beautiful children-one daughter and three sons.
Favorites & Interests
Andrea & I love to see new places & spend time together. We had five years of marriage before kids – we traveled, worked together, & developed our friendship.
Our four children are our greatest joy & passion. We love discipling the next generation of world changers. Andrea has homeschooled her children since kindergarten. She is currently still homeschooling three of the kids and the oldest is away at college. Not every day is smooth trying to parent & teach, but the hard work pays off. Hanging out as family – games, movies, surfing, eating and worship – brings us the most joy.
Andrea & I feel totally blessed. We were placed in this position at Coast in June 2017. We love our staff & church family. We always tell each other what an amazing church family we get to serve. We are excited to be part of what God is doing in this time & place! We are confident that we are going to see an amazing move of God in our church & in L.A. It has already begun!
