You Belong in the Body

20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 ” – John 17:20-22

One of the key ingredients to a successful relationship with Christ is learning to live in healthy, honoring relationships with others. At Coast, we seek to establish and maintain a culture that reflects what the Kingdom of Heaven values most: pure and intimate connection with God and man.

We aren’t perfect, and we don’t expect you to be. We are a body committed to growing in love and walking in humility with grace, while focusing on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. Our culture embraces all people, at every stage of the Christian journey. We understand that there are many parts of the body, each having their own giftings and perspectives. As a result, we seek to recognize the individual’s unique strengths, working together to increase personal freedom, while still pursuing the corporate goal of discipling cities and nations.

Although we hold strongly to the core tenants of the Christian faith, we don’t align ourselves as a body over peripheral, doctrinal interpretations that are not central to the gospel message. We encourage every member of the Coast family to read and interpret the Scriptures for themselves, confident that Holy Spirit can lead every believer into truth and revelation. It’s our belief that all people are powerful and should have the freedom to explore their convictions in a safe and nonjudgmental environment. We also encourage the body to have compassionate and meaningful relationships with people of differing theological and political perspectives, as well as, racial and economic backgrounds.
